Columbia Gateway Dentistry Provides Ceramic Restorations in a Single Day!

Traditional restoration procedures can take multiple visits and invasive impressions to create a restoration that may not thoroughly meet patients’ needs. With Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic (CEREC®), Columbia Gateway Dentistry can create custom ceramic restorations that precisely fit your smile within a single appointment.

CEREC® utilizes state-of-the-art computer assisted design (CAD) software and a high precision in-office milling machine to create customized crowns, inlays, and onlays in just one visit. With this innovative tool, our patients can restore the health, function, and aesthetics all in one appointment.

Who is a Candidate for CEREC®?

Thanks to the versatility of this treatment, CEREC® can be used to create a number of porcelain dental restorations. At Columbia Gateway Dentistry, we use CEREC® for creating inlays, onlays, crowns, and even veneers. While most patients are ideal candidates for this innovative treatment, some individuals, particularly those recovering from gum disease, may find their restorative needs are better met with traditional crowns.

The CEREC Advantage

Beyond treatment versatility, CEREC® offers a number of benefits to its patients, including:

Innovative, Metal-Free Materials – CEREC® uses solid blocks of porcelain to create lasting, metal-free crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers. With this metal-free option, patients receive a beautiful, natural-looking restoration without the risk of expanding metals.

Convenient Care – It can take up to two weeks for a crown or other restoration to be made, fit, and placed. The technology behind CEREC® cuts this wait period down to just one appointment, making it ideal for patients on vacation or those who are experiencing a dental emergency and need an immediate solution. At our Columbia dental practice, CEREC® allows Dr. Ghozati and Dr. Shadi to provide all patients with the care they need, when they need it.

Simple Creation Process – Every step of your CEREC®-based treatment can be conducted within the comfort of our dental practice. Rather than relying on uncomfortable, messy impressions, CEREC® uses an intraoral camera to take digital impressions of your dentition. Once these images have been uploaded into the software, our Columbia dentists are able to design a customized crown, inlay, onlay, or veneer that seamlessly fits your smile.
